In August 2025 CSL announced a demerger of Seqirus as a separate ASX-listed company, targeted by the end of FY26. On 28 October 2025 it deferred the demerger indefinitely because of falling US flu vaccination rates, and said timing would be revisited when market conditions support it. As of August 2026 there was still no confirmed date, although the operational separation of Seqirus was due by 1 July 2026.
